Jonathan Rose currently serves as the Director of Choral Activities at Hillcrest High School, where he directs five vocal ensembles and a handbell choir.
He began his studies at Oklahoma City Community College before transferring to Brigham Young University–Idaho, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. During his time at BYU–Idaho, he served as assistant director for multiple ensembles and performed as a tenor with the Collegiate Singers.
Jonathan's conducting experience includes leading major works such as Lamb of God by Rob Gardner and Handel’s Messiah. As a performer, he has had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned artists including Kristin Chenoweth, Alex Boyé, Foreigner, and composer Z. Randall Stroope.
In addition to his work at Hillcrest High School, he serves as Associate Director of The Eastern Idaho Chorale, the Idaho Chair for Area 10 of the Handbell Musicians of America, and as an executive board member of the Idaho chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). He is an active member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and the Handbell Musicians of America (HMA).
